Mission
and Outreach Commission
Mission Statement
In agreement with the
four basic goals of the Presbyterian Church, Bound Brook, to be a
welcoming, worshiping, caring, and learning church, the Mission
Outreach Commission understands its responsibilities as follows:
- Welcoming
– to hold before the members of the congregation the importance of
welcoming all persons into our church community and into the
residential communities of our region;
-
Caring
– to hold before the congregation the many ways in which we, as a
church, and as individuals, can engage in caring for each other in our
church community and for others in the surrounding communities,
regions, the US and the world;
-
Learning
– to hold before the church members opportunities to learn about being
a welcoming, worshipping, caring and learning church, experientially –
work camps, retreats, mission trips, through individual reading and
meditation – use of the PCUSA on-line lectionary, and through more
traditional classroom activities; and
-
Worshiping
– to hold before the members of the congregation the importance of
opening ourselves to God in worship, the God who cares for God’s
creation, including us, and to understand that we are sent out from
worship to care for our neighbors in need whomever, wherever and
whenever that may be, and to care for God’s creation.
