Membership Commission

The Presbyterian Church at Bound Brook welcomes all of God’s children!

The journey of faith is a very personal one, but it is not meant to be traveled alone! We invite you to come “Home” to our church family whether it is for a day or a lifetime!

We believe there can be no exclusiveness within the body of Christ, and therefore invite all children of God into membership, encouraging the full participation of all members in every area in the life of this congregation. As a member of our church you will grow in your relationship with God and with others.

You may enter into active church membership by letter of transfer from another church, reaffirmation of faith or profession of faith at our New Members Orientation. Baptism can also be arranged.

To learn more about the ministry of The Bound Brook Presbyterian Church and to meet church clergy and leaders as well as others considering joining our church, we invite you to attend our next New Members Orientation Class. New Member Orientation is held four times a year. It is a 4-hour class held on a specific Sunday afternoon, at which refreshments are served and babysitting is available upon request. The class is intended to be informative and to answer all your questions.

Topics we discuss during New Member Orientation include:

• What it means to be Presbyterian
• Our Church History
• The Mission of our Church
• Opportunities for nurture and service
• How our church’s form of government works
• At the conclusion of the orientation, those who wish to unite with the congregation are received into membership.

• Welcoming of Visitors
• New Member Orientations
• New Member Introductions
• Answering questions for visitors and new members
• Management of the friendship pads and pencils
• Updating of the roles
• New Member Reunions
• Bring a Friend to Church Days
• Mailings to the new members of the community

We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm at the church.

The Membership Commission always needs friendly outgoing people to serve with us and to help us make everyone feel Welcome!
