Adult Education

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty.  Anyone who keeps learning stays young.    - Henry Ford

ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES …

We will begin our fall season on Sunday, (date to be announced) at 8:45 am in the cemetery chapel.

This past year we studied the book “The Great Emergence” by Phyllis Tickle.   We are familiar with this author from our studies with the Animate series and the Science and Religion classes.   The book is subtitled “How Christianity Is Changing and Why” and in this class we explored the challenging times facing our Christian faith.   If you were able, it was beneficial to read the book in advance of the class, although it was not required.  You can find the book in your favorite online bookstore.  Sal Lalama lead our discussion.

THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY (Date to be announced) at 10:15 AM in the cemetery chapel.

This past year we discussed Thomas Cahill’s book, Heretics & Heroes: How Renaissance Artists and Reformation Priests Created Our World.  Rev. Linda Owens lead the discussion.  Books were ordered through Amazon.com.
